Easy to Make Spring Centerpiece
Happy first day of spring everyone! Even though we have a long way to go before it really feels like spring I thought it was time to bring some spring into the house. So I decided to make a spring centerpiece for my dining room table. It was super easy to make using items from the dollar store and a few items I already had on hand. I actually made two variations of the centerpiece.
Firstly I chose my vessel to put my arrangement in. The first one I made using a chicken wire basket from the dollar store. I love the basket so much I think I need to go back and get a few more! In the second version I used a wooden box that I bought in an online facebook auction in my area. I just love it! I am sure the box would be easy to make if you were handy at woodworking.
Then I gathered up the fake flowers that I wanted to use in my arrangement. The flowers I used all came from the dollar store. I also picked up a few candles at the dollar store too. They are a good way to add a little interest to your centerpiece if you wanted.
Since my fake flowers from the dollar store have really long wire stems I needed to figure out how to put them in my arrangement without cutting them. I didn’t want to cut them because I like to use them in other large floral arrangements.
The green flowers I just had to bend at a 90 deg. angle to make them work. The long hydrangeas I wrapped around one of my heavy metal candle sticks. This gave it a nice coil and allowed it to sit nicely in the arrangement! Success!
I just kept arranging and adding flowers until I was happy with it. I added a few candles for some interest as well. To ‘boost’ up my candles so they wouldn’t get buried by the flowers, I used little glass candle holders that I already had. You can use whatever you have on had because they are not really seen.
And that is basically it! Two different centerpieces made from dollar store flowers. I just think they are so cute and easy to make. They add a touch of spring to my dining room!
Thanks for stopping by for a little taste of spring. Maybe I have inspired you to add some spring to your home too!
