Boy’s Bathroom Renovation-The Reveal
Hi guys, well it is finally time to reveal the boy’s bathroom renovation. I think it has been 6 months or more since we started this renovation. After Kevin and the boys removed the old bathroom it did take a few months to have the trades people install all the new pretty stuff. We did have one little snag with the renovation. After the shower was installed I noticed that a couple of tiles were cracked where the shower door was installed. This set us back a month or so. You can read all about it in Part 4 Putting it all Back Together of the renovation. (You can also check out Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 while you are at it.)
We were also kind of lazy over the summer. We decided that we would be able to install the trim and paint ourselves (save a little money). So we kind of left it over the summer. Then my job was to decide what kind of trim to use. Oh the stress! I figured that whatever we chose for this small renovation would be used throughout the whole house eventually! All in all, once I decided on the style of trim to use it only took a weekend to install it.
Then I took a couple of weeks to paint the walls, paint the new trim, do the caulking around the vanity and shower and seal the grout on the floor tile and shower tile. I also gave the old mirror a fresh new look with paint as well. We chose the Delta faucet called Trinscic and it is beautiful! The wall paint is Benjamin Moore Stonington Gray and all of the trim is Benjamin Moore Simply White (my absolute favourite white paint).
Time for the before and afters!
OLD MIRROR VS PAINTED MIRROR
OLD SINK VS NEW SINK
OLD VANITY AND SINK VS NEW VANITY AND SINK
OLD TOILET VS NEW TOILET
OLD TOILET AND TUB VS NEW TOILET AND SHOWER
OLD VANITY AND NEW VANITY
As for the finishing touches I put up a beautiful piece of wave art that my mom made. I love her stuff! I also put up the same towel hooks that were up before. Seems to be the best way to get teens to hang up their towels! I hung up some metal fish art but I am still undecided if I really like them or not.
Well there you have it. The boys bathroom renovation is finally done with many more renovations left to do! Will we survive? Meeting with renovation company next week to start on the master bathroom. Stay tuned!
