Christmas Centerpiece DIY
Hey guys time for a new Christmas craft! Having a Christmas centerpiece on my dining room table is a must have for Christmas. You can see my last years centerpiece here. I love the dollar store for all of my crafting supplies. You just can’t beat it really. They have really great stuff. I have been inspired lately by the little tiny string lights I’ve seen in decor all over the place. So thought I would give it a try!
I found some of these tiny string lights at the dollar store the other day. I also picked up 3 vases at the same time. There were also some really cute wintery stickers in the Christmas section as well that I just had to have. I also grabbed some candles. I wasn’t sure if I would use the candles but they were just too nice to leave behind.
Centerpiece Construction
The first thing I did was to apply the stickers to the vases. Basically I just peeled them off of the paper and placed them onto the vases. The hardest part was deciding what sticker to put where!
After the stickers were applied it was time for the lights. Basically from what I gather you just bunch up the string lights and put them into the vases! Sounds easy enough. I had to add batteries because they did not come with any. I put the lights into the vases and they looked so cute! Since I had also bought candles I decided to try wrapping the candles in the lights and then put them into the vases. The lights are on thin little wires so it was easy to wrap them around the candles. I left the battery pack outside of the vase and just tucked them in behind the vases.
Looks pretty good so far! I decided that my centerpiece might need a little greenery. Back to the dollar store I went and I picked up a couple of these Christmas picks. My plan was to deconstruct them and just pop them in around the vases. This is a picture of what I got. Only $1.50 a pick! Can’t beat that.
Using a simple craft blade I cut the floral tape to separate the different pieces in the floral pick. I ended up with quite a few really nice pieces!
I took the pieces and simply just laid them in my arrangement. Positioning all of the greenery first I then added the berries, pine cones and poinsettias. The battery packs were not really even hidden. I needed to have access to the switch and they way I positioned the centerpiece on my dining room table the battery packs are not really seen.
It turned out really great! I just love it. And if you prefer you don’t even really need to add the twinkley lights. Or have twinkley lights but no candles! Just make it your own.
Just in case you don’t have access to a dollar store and want to make this gorgeous centerpiece I rounded up all of the items I used on Amazon. And if you buy through my amazon link you are supporting my blog!
