My Fall Wreath
I guess it’s time to accept that it is finally Fall. I don’t usually decorate for fall in September like a lot of people do. Instead I basically spend September in denial that summer is over. But now there is no doubt about it, fall is here and it is time to pull out the fall wreath for the front door! I thought I would show you how I made my super easy Fall wreath. You can also check out the 10 minute craft I did for my fall mantel.
This is a super easy wreath to make. I used a grapevine wreath and simply wrapped some dollar store fall garlands around it. I usually get my grapevine wreaths at my local thrift store. When you see an ugly wreath, just look past the ugly to see the beautiful grapevine wreath underneath. You can easily remove anything that is on the wreath leaving behind a nice naked grapevine wreath for you to decorate. You can also get them at your local craft store for a little more money than the thrift store. Don’t forget your coupon!
As you can see from this picture that I took at my local dollar store, there are so many garlands that you can choose from. They are all so gorgeous it is hard to choose!
I also found these cute little flowers at my dollar store this year. I thought they would add a little something to my wreath.
These are the two garlands that I chose. One with oak leaves that are quite red in colour and the other has maple leaves that are more yellow.
The next step is to wrap the garland around the wreath. My garlands have a little plastic loop on the end that I hooked over one of the twigs in the wreath. I also used a twist tie to secure the ends together once the garland was wrapped around the wreath.
This is what my wreath looked like with the first garland added. You can stop here if you want. One garland would be perfectly fine too but I thought I would add another just to make it look a little bit fuller.
I kept my wreath just like this for many years but when I saw these cute flowers at the dollar store I knew they would be perfect to jazz up my wreath a bit. I just clipped on the 3 little flowers and the wreath was complete! Pretty cute huh!
There you have it, a super easy to make wreath that you can adapt to any time of year. Make one for Spring, Easter, Christmas, the possibilities are endless.
