Fall Mantel Decor
Hi guys, today I thought I would show you a little bit of my fall mantel decor. I’m not an interior decorator by any means but I thought I would show you a little craft I did that turned out pretty good, and it was practically free! Check it out.
I used a Ragu spaghetti sauce jar….yes, I said a Ragu spaghetti sauce jar and some of my gardening twine. I cleaned the jar but didn’t manage to get the of glue off. Normally I would have used my Goo Gone to remove it but it actually worked to my advantage. I stuck the twine to it and the glue kept the twine nice and neat and secure (maybe I just had a really sticky jar). I just kept winding the twine around the middle of the jar until it was covered.
I also added a little lace to make it pretty. The lace ribbon I had was from my stash but I believe it did come from the dollar store. I think it was only $1.50. I used two small pieces of double-sided tape and just wrapped the lace around the jar and stuck it into place. Super easy.
To finish it all off I put some dollar store cotton stems in the jar to create the fall look I was going for.
For the other side of the mantel I added some grass from my garden. It looked really good cut but after it was in the house for a few days it really pooffed out! Looks pretty good in an unexpected way!
My mantel is complete! I’ve left my chippy window and the candles I used in my spring/summer mantel. Just added a few pumpkins and there you have it a quick and easy mantel set for fall. Check out how I made my white pumpkins over in my Spray Painted Pumpkins post.
As for the hearth I just filled my galvanized bucket that I got at the dollar store with some birch logs that came from my mom’s dead birch tree. I added a tray with a few pumpkins and a vase filled with pumpkins and pine cones that I picked up in my back yard.
My fall fireplace turned out just they way I had envisioned it for fall. I think it will only be around for a few weeks before it gets decorated for Christmas. Check back in a few weeks to see what I come up with for my Christmas mantel.
Thanks for stopping by the blog and have a great day!
