Home Made Hand Sanitizer
Seems like we are living in a very interesting time these days. The whole world is concerned about COVID-19 aka the coronavirus. We all need to take care of and protect ourselves the best way we know how. For me and my family I try to make sure everyone is washing their hands. Especially washing your hands immediately when you get home from being out. Washing your hands is the best way to make sure you don’t get sick whether it is from seasonal cold and flu or something more serious.
Sometimes we find ourselves places where there is no soap and water available. The next best thing would be to use a hand sanitizer. These days its seems like the hand sanitizer is flying off the shelves. Time to make your own! It is very easy to make and you probably have the ingredients at home already!
Home made hand sanitizer can be made with two simple ingredients. You probably even have the ingredients in your home already. Rubbing alcohol and aloe gel is all you need! And of course you will need a little bottle to put your hand sanitizer in. I used a little travel bottle that I bought from the dollar store and an empty hand soap bottle that I cleaned out.
You will also need a mixing bowl, measuring cup and a whisk or spoon to stir up your sanitizer. The recipe is basically 2 parts rubbing alcohol and 1 part aloe gel. I poured 2 thirds of a cup of alcohol into my bowl and then added 1 third of a cup of gel. Mix thoroughly and you are done! Carefully pour the mixture into your chosen container and use the same way you would use any store bought hand sanitizer.
The recipe is pretty simple and now you won’t have to worry about the stores running out of hand sanitizer.
I’ve left a link to some items you might need at the end of this post.
Thanks for stopping by the blog today and stay healthy everyone!

Does the alcohol evaporate in the container?
Karla says
Hi Lori, No it doesn’t evaporate as long and you keep the lid on. Any container with alcohol will eventually evaporate if left open. Thanks for visiting the blog!
