MY NEW KITCHEN HARDWARE

Hi guys just wanted to do a quick blog post about my new kitchen hardware. Not sure if you noticed but I have two different types of hardware. On the doors I have the brushed nickel bar type pull that I absolutely love. (You can see how I painted the kitchen here.)
I did put these on my drawers for a bit but I really wanted to find some cup pulls. I just love the look of them for drawers. Here is a picture of what the cup my pulls look like installed.
It took me awhile to finally find the ones I liked. The trick was that no matter what I found they didn’t quite fit the holes in my drawers. So close, but off just enough to make it impossible to install the new pulls. My first attempt at installing the cup pulls was kind of funny. When I installed them I couldn’t figure out why they wouldn’t go flat to the drawer and thought maybe I bought the wrong type? Duh! The holes weren’t big enough for the posts to go through!
I was so confused that I returned them only for it to dawn on me that the holes needed to be bigger. Sometimes my brain doesn’t connect the dots! So I went back and re-bought them! So fast forward and of course I had my mom, my trusty assistant, come over to help me drill some new bigger holes. She is really good at power tools. So this was our first attempt. The drill kind of ruined the drawer a little. Opps!
A little putty and paint fixed our mistake. To drill the other holes we took a new approach, thanks to mom she knows about these little tricks. We used a small board to drill some holes into and then clamped it to the drawer kind of like a template.
As you can see it took us a couple tries to get the spacing right. But it worked great and we got the rest of the holes drilled without ruining the drawers. Fancy cup pulls installed! The look I was going for complete. That’s all for today guys. Lets have a look at the before and after again. I love a good before and after!
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!
