White Christmas Houses
Christmas decorating was is in full swing around our house this past week. I am sure most of you have probably already finished decorating for Christmas by now. We put up our tree at the end November this year which is unusual for me. I usually wait until December but Kevin finally agreed to getting a new pre-lit artificial tree this year. I was so excited I rushed out and got one immediately! We’ve never had a pre-lit tree before. It’s a beauty!
If you noticed I have these cute little white Christmas houses on my mantle. White Christmas houses seem to be a trend this year but I just couldn’t bring myself to buy MORE Christmas houses. I had these two little houses that I had bought and painted probably 20 years ago. The last few years I have left them in the storage box. Sometimes you just get tired of your same old decor.
Then I had a brain wave. Get out my trusty can of spray paint and spray them white! So I spray painted them and they turned out great. I also stumbled upon this cute little ceramic church that matched my little houses at my local thrift store for only $3.00! I was so excited I took it home and spray painted it before I remembered I should have taken a before shot. Ooops!
Aren’t they just the cutest little houses ever??!! Well that is pretty much it for my Christmas Mantel. I did put the winter wreath I made last winter over my chippy window. If you are wondering how I did that, I used a really short wreath hanger that I found at the dollar store.
The only other new addition to the mantel this year was the trusty mason jar. I just added a few sparkly floral picks from the dollar store and voila! Gotta love the mason jar for quick and easy decorating.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today and have a great day!
Karla
