Wooden Valentine Heart
I thought I would share a cute little wooden valentine heart I made the other day. I saw the wooden heart at the dollar store and figured I would try my hand at a little craft for Valentines Day. I haven’t really crafted much lately but I thought it would be a good project to do on a cold winter weekend day.
The Materials
I bought the little wooden valentine heart at the dollar store. The little tiny sticker hearts around the letters came from the dollar store as well. I used leftover scrapbook paper from my scrap paper stash and some fabric roses I had laying around. I also found some nice letters in my stash as well. Years ago I used to do a lot of scrapbooking so I have tones of paper and embellishments laying around just waiting to be used up!
The Process
First I painted the wooden heart with some pink paint, also from the dollar store, so that the edges would look nice when done. Then I turned my heart over onto the patterned paper and traced around the little heart sections. Cut out the little sections and then glue them onto your heart. If you want you can use some sandpaper to rough up the edges of the heart for a shabby chic look.
Next up is to glue on any embellishments that you choose. I used some little hearts from the dollar store and some sticker letters from my scrapbooking stash. I also added some cute little fabric flowers I had in my craft stash as well.
And that’s it you’re done! Super easy and cute little heart to make by yourself or with the kids this Valentines day. In case you are thinking about spring already here is link to a spring wreath you can make with dollar store items as well.

These are really cute. I don’t quite follow how you traced around the little heart sections though.

Hi Dana, I just turned the heart over onto the paper I wanted to use and traced around each section with a skinny pencil.
