I’ve got a little Easter craft to show you just in time for Easter weekend! Every year I take out my few Easter decorations, and I mean a few, and feel underwhelmed. My decor mostly consists of those brightly colored plastic Easter eggs we all had for our kids when they were little. I look at them then put them away again. Since my kids are older now we don’t use them any more. They are just not ‘nice’ decor items if you know what I mean! This year I thought it was time to give them a makeover and actually use them this year for Easter.
It was super easy to transform these brightly colored plastic eggs. I got out my trusty glue gun and my jute twine and just wrapped those babies up! Pretty much the exact way I did my mason jar for my fall decor.
After I wrapped all of my plastic Easter eggs (OK maybe not all, I have a lot of eggs) I got out some of my scrap booking embellishments and ribbon to fancy them up a bit. The jute, ribbon, flowers and brads I got at the dollar store. The dollar store has tons of crafty stuff you could use to decorate the eggs to match your own style of decor.
You can also leave them plain too because they look pretty darn cute just wrapped in the jute twine.
I just love how these brightly coloured plastic eggs turned out. They are definitely a little more decor friendly now.
I hope this has inspired you to give your plastic Easter eggs a makeover. There are endless was to decorate them according to your design style.
If you love this idea don’t forget to pin it!
